It is rare that we burst into uncontrollable laughter at the instant that we hear something funny. On the radio this morning we heard the news that the central banks of Argentina and Brazil have engaged in talks aimed at creating a common currency in order to achieve eventual economic integration.
Considering how well these two countries have managed their respective currencies in the past, we do not hold out much hope for the success of this lofty goal.
On another topic, the new-old president of Brazil came to the US, as fast as he could, to see President Biden to urge on him the creation, and funding, of a multi-billion dollar program to save and preserve the Amazon rainforest for the benefit of all mankind. The cash would be managed and disbursed by the Brazilian government. Cue: instantaneous outburst of uncontrollable laughter. Any sane person who would agree to trust the Brazilian government, or any Brazilian in general, should be removed from office and have his head examined by the nearest guillotine operator.
