We get that strange creepy tingling in our gums when we feel an Official Lie coming down the pike. This latest one reminds us of WMD, or Weapons of Mass Destruction, and the Catastrophic Iraq Blunder (CIB), if you have forgotten.
We are being told by our government that the drones used to blow up the oil refineries in Saudi Arabia are supposedly Iranian. That assertion is intended to assign blame to them. Those evil Iranians are attacking us again. As in, they manufactured these evil things, gave or sold them to some other vile enemy of ours, and directed them to attack the Saudi oil refineries. We would seriously love to believe this.
Last I heard, it was we, the United States, that created and produced drones, along with the Israelis, and who sold them, and a hell of a lot of other weaponry, to “clients” around the world, including the Saudis. We are the biggest sellers of weaponry in the world. Hell, the King of Jesters loves to invest in stocks like General Dynamics (what a moneymaker, it’s awesome!). Did Iran buy our drones in the global arms market from arms dealers such as the United States? Or from someone else we sold them to? Well, we had better stop their drone program, never mind their nuclear program. Those bastards have a drone program! Or maybe they got them from the Israelis (see how devilishly clever that one is?).
Nobody accuses the US of bombing something when a third party uses the weapons we manufactured and sold to them. Take the Saudi jet fighters used to bomb Yemen. They are American jets manufactured right here in the USA. No one seems to be blaming us for the attacks on Yemen by Saudi jets. Although you might.
We think that the culprits behind the Saudi refinery job were actually groups of disaffected Saudi women, angry over the abuse they suffer every day at the hands of muslim Saudi men.
As the brilliant George W. Bush, a Yale man expert in the use of the passive voice, once glibly told us, “Mistakes were Made.” And here comes another biggie.
